{"id":6482,"collection_id":1,"collection":"bukhari","collection_name":"Sahih al-Bukhari","book_number":"97","bab_id":47.0,"english_bab_number":"47","arabic_bab_number":"47","hadith_number":"7533","our_hadith_number":158,"arabic_urn":177140,"arabic_bab_name":"باب قَوْلِ اللَّهِ تَعَالَى ‏{‏قُلْ فَأْتُوا بِالتَّوْرَاةِ فَاتْلُوهَا}","arabic_text":"إِنَّمَا بَقَاؤُكُمْ فِيمَنْ سَلَفَ مِنَ الأُمَمِ كَمَا بَيْنَ صَلاَةِ الْعَصْرِ إِلَى غُرُوبِ الشَّمْسِ، أُوتِيَ أَهْلُ التَّوْرَاةِ التَّوْرَاةَ فَعَمِلُوا بِهَا حَتَّى انْتَصَفَ النَّهَارُ، ثُمَّ عَجَزُوا فَأُعْطُوا قِيرَاطًا قِيرَاطًا، ثُمَّ أُوتِيَ أَهْلُ الإِنْجِيلِ الإِنْجِيلَ فَعَمِلُوا بِهِ حَتَّى صُلِّيَتِ الْعَصْرُ، ثُمَّ عَجَزُوا فَأُعْطُوا قِيرَاطًا قِيرَاطًا، ثُمَّ أُوتِيتُمُ الْقُرْآنَ فَعَمِلْتُمْ بِهِ حَتَّى غَرَبَتِ الشَّمْسُ، فَأُعْطِيتُمْ قِيرَاطَيْنِ قِيرَاطَيْنِ، فَقَالَ أَهْلُ الْكِتَابِ هَؤُلاَءِ أَقَلُّ مِنَّا عَمَلاً وَأَكْثَرُ أَجْرًا‏.‏ قَالَ اللَّهُ هَلْ ظَلَمْتُكُمْ مِنْ حَقِّكُمْ شَيْئًا قَالُوا لاَ‏.‏ قَالَ فَهْوَ فَضْلِي أُوتِيهِ مَنْ أَشَاءُ ‏\"","arabic_transliteration":"'innamaa baqaa'ukum fiyman salafa mina al'umami kamaa bayna salaahi al'asri 'ilay ghuruwbi alshshamsi، 'uwtiya 'ahlu alttawraahi alttawraaha fa'amiluwa bihaa hattay antasafa alnnahaaru، thumma 'ajazuwa fa'u'tuwa qiyraatana qiyraatana، thumma 'uwtiya 'ahlu al'injiyli al'injiyla fa'amiluwa bihi hattay sulliyati al'asru، thumma 'ajazuwa fa'u'tuwa qiyraatana qiyraatana، thumma 'uwtiytumu alqur'aana fa'amiltum bihi hattay gharabati alshshamsu، fa'u'tiytum qiyraatayni qiyraatayni، faqaala 'ahlu alkitaabi ha'ulaa'i 'aqallu minnaa 'amalaan wa'aktharu 'ajrana‏.‏ qaala alllahu hal zalamtukum min haqqikum shay'ana qaaluwa laa‏.‏ qaala fahwa fadliy 'uwtiyhi man 'ashaa'u ‏\"","arabic_grade":"صحيح","english_urn":70830,"english_bab_name":"“…Say Bring here the Taurat and recite it…”","english_text":"

\nNarrated Ibn `Umar:\n\n

Allah's Apostle said, \"Your stay (in this world) in comparison to the stay of the nations preceding you, \nis like the period between `Asr prayer and the sun set (in comparison to a whole day). The people of \nthe Torah were given the Torah and they acted on it till midday and then they were unable to carry on. \nAnd they were given (a reward equal to) one Qirat each. Then the people of the Gospel were given the \nGospel and they acted on it till `Asr Prayer and then they were unable to carry on, so they were given \nla reward equal to) one Qirat each. Then you were given the Qur'an and you acted on it till sunset, \ntherefore you were given (a reward equal to) two Qirats each. On that, the people of the Scriptures \nsaid, 'These people (Muslims) did less work than we but they took a bigger reward.' Allah said (to \nthem). 'Have I done any oppression to you as regards your rights?'
