{"id":6057,"collection_id":1,"collection":"bukhari","collection_name":"Sahih al-Bukhari","book_number":"60","bab_id":54.0,"english_bab_number":"54","arabic_bab_number":"54","hadith_number":"3470","our_hadith_number":137,"arabic_urn":172530,"arabic_bab_name":"باب","arabic_text":"كَانَ فِي بَنِي إِسْرَائِيلَ رَجُلٌ قَتَلَ تِسْعَةً وَتِسْعِينَ إِنْسَانًا ثُمَّ خَرَجَ يَسْأَلُ، فَأَتَى رَاهِبًا فَسَأَلَهُ، فَقَالَ لَهُ هَلْ مِنْ تَوْبَةٍ قَالَ لاَ‏.‏ فَقَتَلَهُ، فَجَعَلَ يَسْأَلُ، فَقَالَ لَهُ رَجُلٌ ائْتِ قَرْيَةَ كَذَا وَكَذَا‏.‏ فَأَدْرَكَهُ الْمَوْتُ فَنَاءَ بِصَدْرِهِ نَحْوَهَا، فَاخْتَصَمَتْ فِيهِ مَلاَئِكَةُ الرَّحْمَةِ وَمَلاَئِكَةُ الْعَذَابِ، فَأَوْحَى اللَّهُ إِلَى هَذِهِ أَنْ تَقَرَّبِي‏.‏ وَأَوْحَى اللَّهُ إِلَى هَذِهِ أَنْ تَبَاعَدِي‏.‏ وَقَالَ قِيسُوا مَا بَيْنَهُمَا‏.‏ فَوُجِدَ إِلَى هَذِهِ أَقْرَبُ بِشِبْرٍ، فَغُفِرَ لَهُ ‏\"","arabic_transliteration":"kaana fiy baniy 'israa'iyla rajulun qatala tis'ahan watis'iyna 'insaanana thumma kharaja yas'alu، fa'atay raahibana fasa'alahu، faqaala lahu hal min tawbahin qaala laa‏.‏ faqatalahu، faja'ala yas'alu، faqaala lahu rajulun a'ti qaryaha kadhaa wakadhaa‏.‏ fa'adrakahu almawtu fanaa'a bisadrihi nahwahaa، faakhtasamat fiyhi malaa'ikahu alrrahmahi wamalaa'ikahu al'adhaabi، fa'awhay alllahu 'ilay hadhihi 'an taqarrabiy‏.‏ wa'awhay alllahu 'ilay hadhihi 'an tabaa'adiy‏.‏ waqaala qiysuwa maa baynahumaa‏.‏ fawujida 'ilay hadhihi 'aqrabu bishibrin، faghufira lahu ‏\"","arabic_grade":"صحيح","english_urn":32400,"english_bab_name":null,"english_text":"<p>\nNarrated Abu Sa`id Al-Khudri:\n\n<p>The Prophet said, \"Amongst the men of Bani Israel there was a man who had murdered ninety-nine \npersons. Then he set out asking (whether his repentance could be accepted or not). He came upon a \nmonk and asked him if his repentance could be accepted. The monk replied in the negative and so the \nman killed him. He kept on asking till a man advised to go to such and such village. (So he left for it) \nbut death overtook him on the way. While dying, he turned his chest towards that village (where he \nhad hoped his repentance would be accepted), and so the angels of mercy and the angels of \npunishment quarrelled amongst themselves regarding him. Allah ordered the village (towards which \nhe was going) to come closer to him, and ordered the village (whence he had come), to go far away, \nand then He ordered the angels to measure the distances between his body and the two villages. So he \nwas found to be one span closer to the village (he was going to). So he was forgiven.\"","english_grade":"Sahih","last_updated":null,"xrefs":""}
