{"id":38391,"collection_id":13,"collection":"adab","collection_name":"Al-Adab Al-Mufrad","book_number":"44","bab_id":517.0,"english_bab_number":"517","arabic_bab_number":"517","hadith_number":"1109","our_hadith_number":9,"arabic_urn":2311060,"arabic_bab_name":"بَابُ‏:‏ كَيْفَ يَكْتُبُ إِلَى أَهْلِ الْكِتَابِ‏؟‏","arabic_text":"حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو الْيَمَانِ، قَالَ‏:‏ أَخْبَرَنَا شُعَيْبٌ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ قَالَ‏:‏ أَخْبَرَنِي عُبَيْدُ اللهِ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ عُتْبَةَ، أَنَّ عَبْدَ اللهِ بْنَ عَبَّاسٍ أَخْبَرَهُ، أَنَّ أَبَا سُفْيَانَ بْنَ حَرْبٍ أَخْبَرَهُ‏:‏ أَرْسَلَ إِلَيْهِ هِرَقْلُ مَلِكُ الرُّومِ، ثُمَّ دَعَا بِكِتَابِ رَسُولِ اللهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم الَّذِي أُرْسِلَ بِهِ مَعَ دِحْيَةَ الْكَلْبِيِّ إِلَى عَظِيمِ بُصْرَى، فَدَفَعَهُ إِلَيَّ هِرَقْلُ فَقَرَأَهُ، فَإِذَا فِيهِ‏:‏ بِسْمِ اللهِ الرَّحْمَنِ الرَّحِيمِ، مِنْ مُحَمَّدٍ عَبْدِ اللهِ وَرَسُولِهِ إِلَى هِرَقْلَ عَظِيمِ الرُّومِ، سَلاَّمٌ عَلَى مَنِ اتَّبَعَ الْهُدَى، أَمَّا بَعْدُ، فَإِنِّي أَدْعُوكَ بِدِعَايَةِ الإِسْلاَمِ، أَسْلِمْ تَسْلَمْ، يُؤْتِكَ اللَّهُ أَجْرَكَ مَرَّتَيْنِ، فَإِنْ تَوَلَّيْتَ فَإِنَّ عَلَيْكَ إِثْمَ الأَرِيسِيِّينَ وَ ‏{‏يَا أَهْلَ الْكِتَابِ تَعَالَوْا إِلَى كَلِمَةٍ سَوَاءٍ بَيْنَنَا وَبَيْنَكُمْ‏}‏ إِلَى قَوْلِهِ‏:‏ ‏{‏اشْهَدُوا بِأَنَّا مُسْلِمُونَ‏}‏‏.‏","arabic_transliteration":"haddathanaa 'abuw alyamaani، qaala‏:‏ 'akhbaranaa shu'aybun، 'ani alzzuhriyyi qaala‏:‏ 'akhbaraniy 'ubaydu allhi bnu 'abdi allhi bni 'utbaha، 'anna 'abda allhi bna 'abbaasin 'akhbarahu، 'anna 'abaa sufyaana bna harbin 'akhbarahu‏:‏ 'arsala 'ilayhi hiraqlu maliku alrruwmi، thumma da'aa bikitaabi rasuwli allhi sly allh 'lyh wslm alladhiy 'ursila bihi ma'a dihyaha alkalbiyyi 'ilay 'aziymi busray، fadafa'ahu 'ilayya hiraqlu faqara'ahu، fa'idhaa fiyhi‏:‏ bismi allhi alrrahmani alrrahiymi، min muhammadin 'abdi allhi warasuwlihi 'ilay hiraqla 'aziymi alrruwmi، salaaamun 'alay mani attaba'a alhuday، 'ammaa ba'du، fa'inniy 'ad'uwka bidi'aayahi al'islaami، 'aslim taslam، yu'tika alllahu 'ajraka marratayni، fa'in tawallayta fa'inna 'alayka 'ithma al'ariysiyyiyna wa ‏{‏yaa 'ahla alkitaabi ta'aalawa 'ilay kalimahin sawaa'in baynanaa wabaynakum‏}‏ 'ilay qawlihi‏:‏ ‏{‏ashhaduwa bi'annaa muslimuwna‏}‏‏.‏","arabic_grade":"صـحـيـح","english_urn":2210640,"english_bab_name":"How does one write to the People of the Book?","english_text":"'Abdullah ibn 'Abbas related that Abu Sufyan ibn Harb sent him\nto Heraclius, the Byzantine Emperor, and he called for the letter of the\nMessenger of Allah which Dihya had brought to the governor of Busra, who\nin turn passed it on to Heraclius. He read it out, saying, 'In the name\nof Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate, from Muhammad, the slave of\nAllah and His Messenger, to Heraclius, ruler of the Byzantines. Peace be\nupon the one who follows guidance. I call you to Islam. If you become Muslim,\nyou will be safe and Allah will double your reward.
