{"id":38022,"collection_id":13,"collection":"adab","collection_name":"Al-Adab Al-Mufrad","book_number":"32","bab_id":311.0,"english_bab_number":"311","arabic_bab_number":"311","hadith_number":"741","our_hadith_number":138,"arabic_urn":2307390,"arabic_bab_name":"بَابُ جَائِزَةِ الضَّيْفِ","arabic_text":"حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ يُوسُفَ، قَالَ‏:‏ حَدَّثَنَا اللَّيْثُ قَالَ‏:‏ حَدَّثَنِي سَعِيدٌ الْمَقْبُرِيُّ، عَنْ أَبِي شُرَيْحٍ الْعَدَوِيِّ قَالَ‏:‏ سَمِعَتْ أُذُنَايَ، وَأَبْصَرَتْ عَيْنَايَ، حِينَ تَكَلَّمَ النَّبِيُّ صلى الله عليه وسلم فَقَالَ‏:‏ مَنْ كَانَ يُؤْمِنُ بِاللَّهِ وَالْيَوْمِ الْآخِرِ فَلْيُكْرِمْ جَارَهُ، وَمَنْ كَانَ يُؤْمِنُ بِاللَّهِ وَالْيَوْمِ الْآخِرِ فَلْيُكْرِمْ ضَيْفَهُ جَائِزَتَهُ، قَالَ‏:‏ وَمَا جَائِزَتُهُ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ‏؟‏ قَالَ‏:‏ يَوْمٌ وَلَيْلَةٌ، وَالضِّيَافَةُ ثَلاَثَةُ أَيَّامٍ، فَمَا كَانَ وَرَاءَ ذَلِكَ فَهُوَ صَدَقَةٌ عَلَيْهِ‏.‏ وَمَنْ كَانَ يُؤْمِنُ بِاللَّهِ وَالْيَوْمِ الْآخِرِ فَلْيَقُلْ خَيْرًا أَوْ لِيَصْمُتْ‏.‏","arabic_transliteration":"haddathanaa 'abdu allhi bnu yuwsufa، qaala‏:‏ haddathanaa alllaythu qaala‏:‏ haddathaniy sa'iydun almaqburiyyu، 'an 'abiy shurayhin al'adawiyyi qaala‏:‏ sami'at 'udhunaaya، wa'absarat 'aynaaya، hiyna takallama alnnabiyyu sly allh 'lyh wslm faqaala‏:‏ man kaana yu'minu bialllahi waalyawmi al'aakhiri falyukrim jaarahu، waman kaana yu'minu bialllahi waalyawmi al'aakhiri falyukrim dayfahu jaa'izatahu، qaala‏:‏ wamaa jaa'izatuhu yaa rasuwla allhi‏؟‏ qaala‏:‏ yawmun walaylahun، waalddiyaafahu thalaathahu 'ayyaamin، famaa kaana waraa'a dhalika fahuwa sadaqahun 'alayhi‏.‏ waman kaana yu'minu bialllahi waalyawmi al'aakhiri falyaqul khayrana 'aw liyasmut‏.‏","arabic_grade":"صـحـيـح","english_urn":2207009,"english_bab_name":"Sumptuous meal for the guest","english_text":"Abu Shurayh at Adawi (ra) said that his ears heard eyes observed that The Messenger of Allah (saws) was saying,\" he who believes in Allah and the last day should honour his neighbor. He who believes in Allah and the Last Day should take great care of the Jaizah his guest.\" (Jaizah is a provision for a guest that is superior to one’s everyday meal.) The narrator asked,\" what is his Jaizah, O messenger of Allah?\" The Prophet (saws) said,\" his Jaizah, extends over one day and one night while (general) hospitality extends over three days. And beyond that t(that is after three days) is counted as Sadaqah (meaning, whatever the host spends after three days on his guest will be under the head of Sadaqah because hospitality ends at three days).
