{"id":3567,"collection_id":1,"collection":"bukhari","collection_name":"Sahih al-Bukhari","book_number":"66","bab_id":3.0,"english_bab_number":"3","arabic_bab_number":"3","hadith_number":"4987","our_hadith_number":9,"arabic_urn":141830,"arabic_bab_name":"باب جَمْعِ الْقُرْآنِ","arabic_text":"أَدْرِكْ هَذِهِ الأُمَّةَ قَبْلَ أَنْ يَخْتَلِفُوا فِي الْكِتَابِ اخْتِلاَفَ الْيَهُودِ وَالنَّصَارَى فَأَرْسَلَ عُثْمَانُ إِلَى حَفْصَةَ أَنْ أَرْسِلِي إِلَيْنَا بِالصُّحُفِ نَنْسَخُهَا فِي الْمَصَاحِفِ ثُمَّ نَرُدُّهَا إِلَيْكِ فَأَرْسَلَتْ بِهَا حَفْصَةُ إِلَى عُثْمَانَ فَأَمَرَ زَيْدَ بْنَ ثَابِتٍ وَعَبْدَ اللَّهِ بْنَ الزُّبَيْرِ وَسَعِيدَ بْنَ الْعَاصِ وَعَبْدَ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنَ الْحَارِثِ بْنِ هِشَامٍ فَنَسَخُوهَا فِي الْمَصَاحِفِ وَقَالَ عُثْمَانُ لِلرَّهْطِ الْقُرَشِيِّينَ الثَّلاَثَةِ إِذَا اخْتَلَفْتُمْ أَنْتُمْ وَزَيْدُ بْنُ ثَابِتٍ فِي شَىْءٍ مِنَ الْقُرْآنِ فَاكْتُبُوهُ بِلِسَانِ قُرَيْشٍ فَإِنَّمَا نَزَلَ بِلِسَانِهِمْ فَفَعَلُوا حَتَّى إِذَا نَسَخُوا الصُّحُفَ فِي الْمَصَاحِفِ رَدَّ عُثْمَانُ الصُّحُفَ إِلَى حَفْصَةَ وَأَرْسَلَ إِلَى كُلِّ أُفُقٍ بِمُصْحَفٍ مِمَّا نَسَخُوا وَأَمَرَ بِمَا سِوَاهُ مِنَ الْقُرْآنِ فِي كُلِّ صَحِيفَةٍ أَوْ مُصْحَفٍ أَنْ يُحْرَقَ‏","arabic_transliteration":"'adrik hadhihi al'ummaha qabla 'an yakhtalifuwa fiy alkitaabi akhtilaafa alyahuwdi waalnnasaaray fa'arsala 'uthmaanu 'ilay hafsaha 'an 'arsiliy 'ilaynaa bialssuhufi nansakhuhaa fiy almasaahifi thumma narudduhaa 'ilayki fa'arsalat bihaa hafsahu 'ilay 'uthmaana fa'amara zayda bna thaabitin wa'abda alllahi bna alzzubayri wasa'iyda bna al'aasi wa'abda alrrahmani bna alhaarithi bni hishaamin fanasakhuwhaa fiy almasaahifi waqaala 'uthmaanu lilrrahti alqurashiyyiyna alththalaathahi 'idhaa akhtalaftum 'antum wazaydu bnu thaabitin fiy shay'in mina alqur'aani faaktubuwhu bilisaani qurayshin fa'innamaa nazala bilisaanihim fafa'aluwa hattay 'idhaa nasakhuwa alssuhufa fiy almasaahifi radda 'uthmaanu alssuhufa 'ilay hafsaha wa'arsala 'ilay kulli 'ufuqin bimushafin mimmaa nasakhuwa wa'amara bimaa siwaahu mina alqur'aani fiy kulli sahiyfahin 'aw mushafin 'an yuhraqa‏","arabic_grade":"صحيح","english_urn":46651,"english_bab_name":"The collection of the Qur'an","english_text":"<p>\nNarrated Anas bin Malik:\n\n<p>Hudhaifa bin Al-Yaman came to `Uthman at the time when the people of Sham and the people of Iraq \nwere Waging war to conquer Arminya and Adharbijan. Hudhaifa was afraid of their (the people of \nSham and Iraq) differences in the recitation of the Qur'an, so he said to `Uthman, \"O chief of the \nBelievers! Save this nation before they differ about the Book (Qur'an) as Jews and the Christians did \nbefore.\" So `Uthman sent a message to Hafsa saying, \"Send us the manuscripts of the Qur'an so that \nwe may compile the Qur'anic materials in perfect copies and return the manuscripts to you.\" Hafsa \nsent it to `Uthman. `Uthman then ordered Zaid bin Thabit, `Abdullah bin AzZubair, Sa`id bin Al-As \nand `AbdurRahman bin Harith bin Hisham to rewrite the manuscripts in perfect copies. `Uthman said \nto the three Quraishi men, \"In case you disagree with Zaid bin Thabit on any point in the Qur'an, then \nwrite it in the dialect of Quraish, the Qur'an was revealed in their tongue.\" They did so, and when they \nhad written many copies, `Uthman returned the original manuscripts to Hafsa. `Uthman sent to every \nMuslim province one copy of what they had copied, and ordered that all the other Qur'anic materials, \nwhether written in fragmentary manuscripts or whole copies, be burnt.","english_grade":"Sahih","last_updated":null,"xrefs":""}
