{"id":3007,"collection_id":1,"collection":"bukhari","collection_name":"Sahih al-Bukhari","book_number":"63","bab_id":40.0,"english_bab_number":"40","arabic_bab_number":"40","hadith_number":"3884","our_hadith_number":109,"arabic_urn":135190,"arabic_bab_name":"باب قِصَّةُ أَبِي طَالِبٍ","arabic_text":"\"‏ أَىْ عَمِّ، قُلْ لاَ إِلَهَ إِلاَّ اللَّهُ‏.‏ كَلِمَةً أُحَاجُّ لَكَ بِهَا عِنْدَ اللَّهِ ‏\"‏‏.‏ فَقَالَ أَبُو جَهْلٍ وَعَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ أَبِي أُمَيَّةَ يَا أَبَا طَالِبٍ، تَرْغَبُ عَنْ مِلَّةِ عَبْدِ الْمُطَّلِبِ فَلَمْ يَزَالاَ يُكَلِّمَانِهِ حَتَّى قَالَ آخِرَ شَىْءٍ كَلَّمَهُمْ بِهِ عَلَى مِلَّةِ عَبْدِ الْمُطَّلِبِ‏.‏ فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ صلى الله عليه وسلم ‏\"‏ لأَسْتَغْفِرَنَّ لَكَ مَا لَمْ أُنْهَ عَنْهُ ‏\"‏‏.‏ فَنَزَلَتْ ‏{‏مَا كَانَ لِلنَّبِيِّ وَالَّذِينَ آمَنُوا أَنْ يَسْتَغْفِرُوا لِلْمُشْرِكِينَ وَلَوْ كَانُوا أُولِي قُرْبَى مِنْ بَعْدِ مَا تَبَيَّنَ لَهُمْ أَنَّهُمْ أَصْحَابُ الْجَحِيمِ‏}‏ وَنَزَلَتْ ‏{‏إِنَّكَ لاَ تَهْدِي مَنْ أَحْبَبْتَ‏}‏","arabic_transliteration":"\"‏ 'ay 'ammi، qul laa 'ilaha 'ilaaa alllahu‏.‏ kalimahan 'uhaajju laka bihaa 'inda alllahi ‏\"‏‏.‏ faqaala 'abuw jahlin wa'abdu alllahi bnu 'abiy 'umayyaha yaa 'abaa taalibin، targhabu 'an millahi 'abdi almuttalibi falam yazaalaa yukallimaanihi hattay qaala 'aakhira shay'in kallamahum bihi 'alay millahi 'abdi almuttalibi‏.‏ faqaala alnnabiyyu sly allh 'lyh wslm ‏\"‏ l'astaghfiranna laka maa lam 'unha 'anhu ‏\"‏‏.‏ fanazalat ‏{‏maa kaana lilnnabiyyi waalladhiyna 'aamanuwa 'an yastaghfiruwa lilmushrikiyna walaw kaanuwa 'uwliy qurbay min ba'di maa tabayyana lahum 'annahum 'ashaabu aljahiymi‏}‏ wanazalat ‏{‏'innaka laa tahdiy man 'ahbabta‏}‏","arabic_grade":"صحيح","english_urn":36290,"english_bab_name":"The story of Abu Talib","english_text":"<p>\nNarrated Al-Musaiyab:\n\n<p>When Abu Talib was in his death bed, the Prophet went to him while Abu Jahl was sitting beside him. \nThe Prophet said, \"O my uncle! Say: None has the right to be worshipped except Allah, an expression \nI will defend your case with, before Allah.\" Abu Jahl and `Abdullah bin Umaiya said, \"O Abu Talib! \nWill you leave the religion of `Abdul Muttalib?\" So they kept on saying this to him so that the last \nstatement he said to them (before he died) was: \"I am on the religion of `Abdul Muttalib.\" Then the \nProphet said, \" I will keep on asking for Allah's Forgiveness for you unless I am forbidden to do so.\" \nThen the following Verse was revealed:-- \n\"It is not fitting for the Prophet and the believers to ask Allah's Forgiveness for the pagans, even if \nthey were their near relatives, after it has become clear to them that they are the dwellers of the (Hell) \nFire.\" (9.113) \nThe other Verse was also revealed:-- \"(O Prophet!)
