{"id":2921,"collection_id":1,"collection":"bukhari","collection_name":"Sahih al-Bukhari","book_number":"63","bab_id":10.0,"english_bab_number":"10","arabic_bab_number":"10","hadith_number":"3798","our_hadith_number":23,"arabic_urn":134320,"arabic_bab_name":"بَابُ: {وَيُؤْثِرُونَ عَلَى أَنْفُسِهِمْ وَلَوْ كَانَ بِهِمْ خَصَاصَةٌ}","arabic_text":"أَنَّ رَجُلاً، أَتَى النَّبِيَّ صلى الله عليه وسلم فَبَعَثَ إِلَى نِسَائِهِ فَقُلْنَ مَا مَعَنَا إِلاَّ الْمَاءُ‏.‏ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم ‏\"‏ مَنْ يَضُمُّ، أَوْ يُضِيفُ هَذَا ‏\"‏‏.‏ فَقَالَ رَجُلٌ مِنَ الأَنْصَارِ أَنَا‏.‏ فَانْطَلَقَ بِهِ إِلَى امْرَأَتِهِ، فَقَالَ أَكْرِمِي ضَيْفَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم فَقَالَتْ مَا عِنْدَنَا إِلاَّ قُوتُ صِبْيَانِي‏.‏ فَقَالَ هَيِّئِي طَعَامَكِ، وَأَصْبِحِي سِرَاجَكِ، وَنَوِّمِي صِبْيَانَكِ إِذَا أَرَادُوا عَشَاءً‏.‏ فَهَيَّأَتْ طَعَامَهَا وَأَصْبَحَتْ سِرَاجَهَا، وَنَوَّمَتْ صِبْيَانَهَا، ثُمَّ قَامَتْ كَأَنَّهَا تُصْلِحُ سِرَاجَهَا فَأَطْفَأَتْهُ، فَجَعَلاَ يُرِيَانِهِ أَنَّهُمَا يَأْكُلاَنِ، فَبَاتَا طَاوِيَيْنِ، فَلَمَّا أَصْبَحَ، غَدَا إِلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم فَقَالَ ‏\"‏ ضَحِكَ اللَّهُ اللَّيْلَةَ ـ أَوْ عَجِبَ ـ مِنْ فَعَالِكُمَا ‏\"‏ فَأَنْزَلَ اللَّهُ ‏{‏وَيُؤْثِرُونَ عَلَى أَنْفُسِهِمْ وَلَوْ كَانَ بِهِمْ خَصَاصَةٌ وَمَنْ يُوقَ شُحَّ نَفْسِهِ فَأُولَئِكَ هُمُ الْمُفْلِحُونَ‏}‏","arabic_transliteration":"'anna rajulaan، 'atay alnnabiyya sly allh 'lyh wslm faba'atha 'ilay nisaa'ihi faqulna maa ma'anaa 'ilaaa almaa'u‏.‏ faqaala rasuwlu alllahi sly allh 'lyh wslm ‏\"‏ man yadummu، 'aw yudiyfu hadhaa ‏\"‏‏.‏ faqaala rajulun mina al'ansaari 'anaa‏.‏ faantalaqa bihi 'ilay amra'atihi، faqaala 'akrimiy dayfa rasuwli alllahi sly allh 'lyh wslm faqaalat maa 'indanaa 'ilaaa quwtu sibyaaniy‏.‏ faqaala hayyi'iy ta'aamaki، wa'asbihiy siraajaki، wanawwimiy sibyaanaki 'idhaa 'araaduwa 'ashaa'an‏.‏ fahayya'at ta'aamahaa wa'asbahat siraajahaa، wanawwamat sibyaanahaa، thumma qaamat ka'annahaa tuslihu siraajahaa fa'atfa'athu، faja'alaa yuriyaanihi 'annahumaa ya'kulaani، fabaataa taawiyayni، falammaa 'asbaha، ghadaa 'ilay rasuwli alllahi sly allh 'lyh wslm faqaala ‏\"‏ dahika alllahu alllaylaha  'aw 'ajiba  min fa'aalikumaa ‏\"‏ fa'anzala alllahu ‏{‏wayu'thiruwna 'alay 'anfusihim walaw kaana bihim khasaasahun waman yuwqa shuhha nafsihi fa'uwla'ika humu almuflihuwna‏}‏","arabic_grade":"صحيح","english_urn":35480,"english_bab_name":"“... (they) give them (emigrants) preference over themselves ...”","english_text":"<p>\nNarrated Abu Huraira:\n\n<p>A man came to the Prophet. The Prophet sent a messenger to his wives (to bring something for that \nman to eat) but they said that they had nothing except water. Then Allah's Apostle said, \"Who will \ntake this (person) or entertain him as a guest?\" An Ansar man said, \"I.\" So he took him to his wife and \nsaid to her, \"Entertain generously the guest of Allah's Apostle \" She said, \"We have got nothing except \nthe meals of my children.\" He said, \"Prepare your meal, light your lamp and let your children sleep if \nthey ask for supper.\" So she prepared her meal, lighted her lamp and made her children sleep, and then \nstood up pretending to mend her lamp, but she put it off. Then both of them pretended to be eating, \nbut they really went to bed hungry. In the morning the Ansari went to Allah's Apostle who said, \n\"Tonight Allah laughed or wondered at your action.\" Then Allah revealed: \n\"But give them (emigrants) preference over themselves even though they were in need of that And \nwhosoever is saved from the covetousness Such are they who will be successful.\" (59.9)","english_grade":"Sahih","last_updated":null,"xrefs":""}
