{"id":22431,"collection_id":4,"collection":"abudawud","collection_name":"Sunan Abi Dawud","book_number":"26","bab_id":1.0,"english_bab_number":"1","arabic_bab_number":"1","hadith_number":"3641","our_hadith_number":1,"arabic_urn":936440,"arabic_bab_name":"باب الْحَثِّ عَلَى طَلَبِ الْعِلْمِ","arabic_text":"حَدَّثَنَا مُسَدَّدُ بْنُ مُسَرْهَدٍ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ دَاوُدَ، سَمِعْتُ عَاصِمَ بْنَ رَجَاءِ بْنِ حَيْوَةَ، يُحَدِّثُ عَنْ دَاوُدَ بْنِ جَمِيلٍ، عَنْ كَثِيرِ بْنِ قَيْسٍ، قَالَ كُنْتُ جَالِسًا مَعَ أَبِي الدَّرْدَاءِ فِي مَسْجِدِ دِمَشْقَ فَجَاءَهُ رَجُلٌ فَقَالَ يَا أَبَا الدَّرْدَاءِ إِنِّي جِئْتُكَ مِنْ مَدِينَةِ الرَّسُولِ صلى الله عليه وسلم لِحَدِيثٍ بَلَغَنِي أَنَّكَ تُحَدِّثُهُ عَنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم مَا جِئْتُ لِحَاجَةٍ ‏.‏ قَالَ فَإِنِّي سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم يَقُولُ ‏\"‏ مَنْ سَلَكَ طَرِيقًا يَطْلُبُ فِيهِ عِلْمًا سَلَكَ اللَّهُ بِهِ طَرِيقًا مِنْ طُرُقِ الْجَنَّةِ وَإِنَّ الْمَلاَئِكَةَ لَتَضَعُ أَجْنِحَتَهَا رِضًا لِطَالِبِ الْعِلْمِ وَإِنَّ الْعَالِمَ لَيَسْتَغْفِرُ لَهُ مَنْ فِي السَّمَوَاتِ وَمَنْ فِي الأَرْضِ وَالْحِيتَانُ فِي جَوْفِ الْمَاءِ وَإِنَّ فَضْلَ الْعَالِمِ عَلَى الْعَابِدِ كَفَضْلِ الْقَمَرِ لَيْلَةَ الْبَدْرِ عَلَى سَائِرِ الْكَوَاكِبِ وَإِنَّ الْعُلَمَاءَ وَرَثَةُ الأَنْبِيَاءِ وَإِنَّ الأَنْبِيَاءَ لَمْ يُوَرِّثُوا دِينَارًا وَلاَ دِرْهَمًا وَرَّثُوا الْعِلْمَ فَمَنْ أَخَذَهُ أَخَذَ بِحَظٍّ وَافِرٍ ‏\"‏ ‏.‏","arabic_transliteration":"haddathanaa musaddadu bnu musarhadin، haddathanaa 'abdu alllahi bnu daawuda، sami'tu 'aasima bna rajaa'i bni haywaha، yuhaddithu 'an daawuda bni jamiylin، 'an kathiyri bni qaysin، qaala kuntu jaalisana ma'a 'abiy alddardaa'i fiy masjidi dimashqa fajaa'ahu rajulun faqaala yaa 'abaa alddardaa'i 'inniy ji'tuka min madiynahi alrrasuwli sly allh 'lyh wslm lihadiythin balaghaniy 'annaka tuhaddithuhu 'an rasuwli alllahi sly allh 'lyh wslm maa ji'tu lihaajahin ‏.‏ qaala fa'inniy sami'tu rasuwla alllahi sly allh 'lyh wslm yaquwlu ‏\"‏ man salaka tariyqana yatlubu fiyhi 'ilmana salaka alllahu bihi tariyqana min turuqi aljannahi wa'inna almalaa'ikaha latada'u 'ajnihatahaa ridana litaalibi al'ilmi wa'inna al'aalima layastaghfiru lahu man fiy alssamawaati waman fiy al'ardi waalhiytaanu fiy jawfi almaa'i wa'inna fadla al'aalimi 'alay al'aabidi kafadli alqamari laylaha albadri 'alay saa'iri alkawaakibi wa'inna al'ulamaa'a warathahu al'anbiyaa'i wa'inna al'anbiyaa'a lam yuwarrithuwa diynaarana walaa dirhamana warrathuwa al'ilma faman 'akhadhahu 'akhadha bihazzin waafirin ‏\"‏ ‏.‏","arabic_grade":"صحيح","english_urn":836340,"english_bab_name":"Regarding the virtue of knowledge","english_text":"<p>\n\nNarrated Kathir ibn Qays:\n</p>\n\n\n\n<p>\n\nKathir ibn Qays said: I was sitting with AbudDarda' in the mosque of Damascus.  \n</p>\n\n\n<p>\n\nA man came to him and said: AbudDarda, I have come to you from the town of the Messenger of Allah (saws) for a tradition that I have heard you relate from the Messenger of Allah (saws). I have come for no other purpose.  \n</p>\n\n\n<p>\n\nHe said: I heard the Messenger of Allah (saws) say: If anyone travels on a road in search of knowledge, Allah will cause him to travel on one of the roads of Paradise. The angels will lower their wings in their great pleasure with one who seeks knowledge, the inhabitants of the heavens and the Earth and the fish in the deep waters will ask forgiveness for the learned man. The superiority of the learned man over the devout is like that of the moon, on the night when it is full, over the rest of the stars. The learned are the heirs of the Prophets, and the Prophets leave neither dinar nor dirham, leaving only knowledge, and he who takes it takes an abundant portion.\n</p>","english_grade":"Sahih","last_updated":null,"xrefs":""}
