{"id":1949,"collection_id":1,"collection":"bukhari","collection_name":"Sahih al-Bukhari","book_number":"40","bab_id":2.0,"english_bab_number":"2","arabic_bab_number":"2","hadith_number":"2301","our_hadith_number":3,"arabic_urn":122210,"arabic_bab_name":"باب إِذَا وَكَّلَ الْمُسْلِمُ حَرْبِيًّا فِي دَارِ الْحَرْبِ أَوْ فِي دَارِ الإِسْلاَمِ، جَازَ","arabic_text":"كَاتَبْتُ أُمَيَّةَ بْنَ خَلَفٍ كِتَابًا بِأَنْ يَحْفَظَنِي فِي صَاغِيَتِي بِمَكَّةَ، وَأَحْفَظَهُ فِي صَاغِيَتِهِ بِالْمَدِينَةِ، فَلَمَّا ذَكَرْتُ الرَّحْمَنَ قَالَ لاَ أَعْرِفُ الرَّحْمَنَ، كَاتِبْنِي بِاسْمِكَ الَّذِي كَانَ فِي الْجَاهِلِيَّةِ‏.‏ فَكَاتَبْتُهُ عَبْدُ عَمْرٍو فَلَمَّا كَانَ فِي يَوْمِ بَدْرٍ خَرَجْتُ إِلَى جَبَلٍ لأُحْرِزَهُ حِينَ نَامَ النَّاسُ فَأَبْصَرَهُ بِلاَلٌ فَخَرَجَ حَتَّى وَقَفَ عَلَى مَجْلِسٍ مِنَ الأَنْصَارِ فَقَالَ أُمَيَّةُ بْنُ خَلَفٍ، لاَ نَجَوْتُ إِنْ نَجَا أُمَيَّةُ‏.‏ فَخَرَجَ مَعَهُ فَرِيقٌ مِنَ الأَنْصَارِ فِي آثَارِنَا، فَلَمَّا خَشِيتُ أَنْ يَلْحَقُونَا خَلَّفْتُ لَهُمُ ابْنَهُ، لأَشْغَلَهُمْ فَقَتَلُوهُ ثُمَّ أَبَوْا حَتَّى يَتْبَعُونَا، وَكَانَ رَجُلاً ثَقِيلاً، فَلَمَّا أَدْرَكُونَا قُلْتُ لَهُ ابْرُكْ‏.‏ فَبَرَكَ، فَأَلْقَيْتُ عَلَيْهِ نَفْسِي لأَمْنَعَهُ، فَتَخَلَّلُوهُ بِالسُّيُوفِ مِنْ تَحْتِي، حَتَّى قَتَلُوهُ، وَأَصَابَ أَحَدُهُمْ رِجْلِي بِسَيْفِهِ، وَكَانَ عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ عَوْفٍ يُرِينَا ذَلِكَ الأَثَرَ فِي ظَهْرِ قَدَمِهِ‏.‏","arabic_transliteration":"kaatabtu 'umayyaha bna khalafin kitaabana bi'an yahfazaniy fiy saaghiyatiy bimakkaha، wa'ahfazahu fiy saaghiyatihi bialmadiynahi، falammaa dhakartu alrrahmana qaala laa 'a'rifu alrrahmana، kaatibniy biasmika alladhiy kaana fiy aljaahiliyyahi‏.‏ fakaatabtuhu 'abdu 'amrinw falammaa kaana fiy yawmi badrin kharajtu 'ilay jabalin l'uhrizahu hiyna naama alnnaasu fa'absarahu bilaalun fakharaja hattay waqafa 'alay majlisin mina al'ansaari faqaala 'umayyahu bnu khalafin، laa najawtu 'in najaa 'umayyahu‏.‏ fakharaja ma'ahu fariyqun mina al'ansaari fiy 'aathaarinaa، falammaa khashiytu 'an yalhaquwnaa khallaftu lahumu abnahu، l'ashghalahum faqataluwhu thumma 'abawa hattay yatba'uwnaa، wakaana rajulaan thaqiylaan، falammaa 'adrakuwnaa qultu lahu abruk‏.‏ fabaraka، fa'alqaytu 'alayhi nafsiy l'amna'ahu، fatakhallaluwhu bialssuyuwfi min tahtiy، hattay qataluwhu، wa'asaaba 'ahaduhum rijliy bisayfihi، wakaana 'abdu alrrahmani bnu 'awfin yuriynaa dhalika al'athara fiy zahri qadamihi‏.‏","arabic_grade":"صحيح","english_urn":21610,"english_bab_name":"If a Muslim deputizes a non-Muslim","english_text":"<p>\nNarrated `Abdur-Rahman bin `Auf:\n\n<p>I got an agreement written between me and Umaiya bin Khalaf that Umaiya would look after my \nproperty (or family) in Mecca and I would look after his in Medina. When I mentioned the word 'Ar64 \nRahman' in the documents, Umaiya said, \"I do not know 'Ar-Rahman.' Write down to me your name, \n(with which you called yourself) in the Pre-Islamic Period of Ignorance.\" So, I wrote my name ' \n`Abdu `Amr'. On the day (of the battle) of Badr, when all the people went to sleep, I went up the hill \nto protect him. Bilal(1) saw him (i.e. Umaiya) and went to a gathering of Ansar and said, \"(Here is) \nUmaiya bin Khalaf! Woe to me if he escapes!\" So, a group of Ansar went out with Bilal to follow us \n(`Abdur-Rahman and Umaiya). Being afraid that they would catch us, I left Umaiya's son for them to \nkeep them busy but the Ansar killed the son and insisted on following us. Umaiya was a fat man, and \nwhen they approached us, I told him to kneel down, and he knelt, and I laid myself on him to protect \nhim, but the Ansar killed him by passing their swords underneath me, and one of them injured my foot \nwith his sword.
