{"id":19378,"collection_id":4,"collection":"abudawud","collection_name":"Sunan Abi Dawud","book_number":"2","bab_id":61.0,"english_bab_number":"211","arabic_bab_number":"61","hadith_number":"589","our_hadith_number":199,"arabic_urn":905890,"arabic_bab_name":"باب مَنْ أَحَقُّ بِالإِمَامَةِ","arabic_text":"حَدَّثَنَا مُسَدَّدٌ، حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ، ح وَحَدَّثَنَا مُسَدَّدٌ، حَدَّثَنَا مَسْلَمَةُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ، - الْمَعْنَى وَاحِدٌ - عَنْ خَالِدٍ، عَنْ أَبِي قِلاَبَةَ، عَنْ مَالِكِ بْنِ الْحُوَيْرِثِ، أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صلى الله عليه وسلم قَالَ لَهُ أَوْ لِصَاحِبٍ لَهُ ‏\"‏ إِذَا حَضَرَتِ الصَّلاَةُ فَأَذِّنَا ثُمَّ أَقِيمَا ثُمَّ لْيَؤُمَّكُمَا أَكْبَرُكُمَا ‏\"‏ ‏.‏ وَفِي حَدِيثِ مَسْلَمَةَ قَالَ وَكُنَّا يَوْمَئِذٍ مُتَقَارِبَيْنِ فِي الْعِلْمِ ‏.‏ وَقَالَ فِي حَدِيثِ إِسْمَاعِيلَ قَالَ خَالِدٌ قُلْتُ لأَبِي قِلاَبَةَ فَأَيْنَ الْقُرْآنُ قَالَ إِنَّهُمَا كَانَا مُتَقَارِبَيْنِ ‏.‏","arabic_transliteration":"haddathanaa musaddadun، haddathanaa 'ismaa'iylu، h wahaddathanaa musaddadun، haddathanaa maslamahu bnu muhammadin، - alma'nay waahidun - 'an khaalidin، 'an 'abiy qilaabaha، 'an maaliki bni alhuwayrithi، 'anna alnnabiyya sly allh 'lyh wslm qaala lahu 'aw lisaahibin lahu ‏\"‏ 'idhaa hadarati alssalaahu fa'adhdhinaa thumma 'aqiymaa thumma lya'ummakumaa 'akbarukumaa ‏\"‏ ‏.‏ wafiy hadiythi maslamaha qaala wakunnaa yawma'idhin mutaqaaribayni fiy al'ilmi ‏.‏ waqaala fiy hadiythi 'ismaa'iyla qaala khaalidun qultu l'abiy qilaabaha fa'ayna alqur'aanu qaala 'innahumaa kaanaa mutaqaaribayni ‏.‏","arabic_grade":"صحيح","english_urn":805890,"english_bab_name":"Who Has More Right To Be Imam","english_text":"<p>\nMalik b. al-Huwairith said that the Prophet( may peace be upon him) told him or some of his companions: When the time of prayer comes, call the Adhan, then call the iqamah, then the one who is oldest of you should act as your imam.\n</p>\n<p>\nThe version narrated by Maslamah goes : He said: On that day we were almost equal in knowledge.\n</p>\n<p>\nThe version narrated by Isma’il says: Khalid said: I said to Abu Qilabah: where is the Qur’an(i.e. why did the Prophet(may peace be upon him)  not say: The one who knows the Qur’an most should act as imam)?
